Old School BMX Oct 1975 Gen 1 Raleigh DL55 MX 100% Correct

New paint/full correct decal set. A stunning early gen 1 example of the Raleigh MX.

Minor changes to gen 2 76 were a saddle change and welded rear reflector bracket to the frame. Gen 1 has the bracket welded to the undercarriage of its saddle. Has taken 4-5 years to put fully correct, with a just a few parts missing it was a headache, so my advice is if you see one with its parts missing as usual I'd walk the other way. The only NOS original parts replaced were the NOS Raleigh pedals, and its NOS grips.

Very rare original wheel set, Shurmann rims in awesome condition, front Sunshine Japan hub, rear coaster hub is Bendix 1970. Original tyres (RARE AS HELL) Raleigh Super MX "The grippers" slightly dry very minor ageing on walls, treads are great. These are mega rare tyres.

YOU DO NOT SEE THEM AROUND! With the luck of the Irish they were still on their wheels. Full correct reflector sets, flipping hard to find from Japan. If the bars are missing then you're in trouble. Correct NOS OGK waffle grips. Correct saddle and post, and struts/bolts etc etc. Saddle has few marks out the side of it but only minimal. The saddle has very durable og covering so its more or less bomb proof. Very very rare to see a fully complete one, in the UK as well as the USA and Canada. Theres alway's parts missing on these things. I know other owners that are still looking for correct parts after years of owning them. Ace piece of Raleigh history we usually don't see around in this country.

Its probably one of the nicest to ride for an adult too, rides perfect and cruisy like a chopper. Especially anything like this, Id absolutely die if it were to be scratched, lost, damaged.
